Athens Cultural Affairs Commission Seeking Candidates

The Athens Cultural Affairs Commission is taking applications for two members who will serve voluntarily for a three year term.
ACAC members are responsible for the development and enjoyment of the arts in the Athens-Clarke County (ACC) community. They make recommendations to the Mayor and Commission in many areas of ACC planning and development. Many local art installations, including the bus stop sculptures, and the murals on Hot Corner and the Foundry Parking deck, have been a result of the commission’s collaboration with the city and artists.

The ACAC meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 PM, and additional committee work is conducted between these meetings. Applicants must be Athens-Clarke County residents and have interest in the arts, public administration, community engagement, outreach, arts education and arts advocacy. The deadline for receiving applications is Sunday, Feb 23rd at 11:59PM, and the term will begin in the spring.
