A bipartisan bill was introduced to help create youth sports facilities to support families and those in low-income and underserved communities.

This week, U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff and Todd Young introduced the bipartisan legislation to build more sports facilities for children and families in Georgia. This bill will allow youth sports facilities to be eligible for grants and funding opportunities.

The Youth Sports Facilities Act was introduced to help build and upgrade sports facilities in Georgia, while giving children and families a safe space to play. It also supports students' mental health and boosts economic growth.

“This bipartisan bill will help Georgia communities expand youth sports facilities, strengthen local economies, and foster mental and physical health for the next generation,” Senator Ossoff said.

This bill would allow youth sports facilities to be eligible for grants through the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration. It will give educational agencies, local governments, and nonprofits more opportunities to create or upgrade sports facilities.
