Athens Meals on Wheels seeks to serve those still waiting for connection

Meals on Wheels is well known for delivering food to homebound Americans. In the local area, the service is run by the Athens Community Council on Aging. The organization is joining a nationwide program called End the Wait, hoping to get every household off the Meals on Wheels waitlist and onto the routes of meal deliverers.

Eve Anthony is the CEO of the Athens Community Council on Aging. She sat down with WUGA’s Alexia Ridley to discuss the organization’s efforts to expand Meals on Wheels to everyone who needs it. Here’s that conversation.

Alexia Ridley joined WUGA as Television and Radio News Anchor and Reporter in 2013. When WUGA TV concluded operations, she became the primary Reporter for WUGA Radio. Alexia came to Athens from Macon where she served as the News Director and show host for WGXA TV. She's a career journalist and Savannah native hailing from the University of Michigan. However, Alexia considers herself an honorary UGA DAWG!
