ACCPD Investigating Fatal Crash

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating after two pedestrians were killed when they were struck by a car. Police responded to a single-vehicle accident on April 25 at around 8:30 pm , in the area of Gaines School Road and Lexington Road. They found 58-year-old Amy Morgan who died from her injuries on the scene. 31-year-old Anthony Braxton succumbed to his injuries after being treated at a local hospital.

The driver, Lois Dua, was not injured. She was arrested and charged with Vehicular Homicide in the second degree and two counts of failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. This is the fifth fatal crash of 2025.
