The University of Georgia’s Black Faculty and Staff Organization, or BFSO, hosted its Founders Scholarship Luncheon on Wednesday. It was another full house for the event which organizers say honors Black History Month.
Megan Brock is president of the BFSO.

“In support of us remembering our heritage, of us recognizing, acknowledging, celebrating the trailblazers that came from our very own community,” Brock said. “We had a keynote by a distinguished professor and respected scholar, Dr. Juanita Johnson-Bailey, who’s been here for years.”

The gathering included remarks from UGA President Jere Morehead and the keynote address was delivered by Professor Juanita Johnson-Bailey. The Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching recipient is the Centennial Professor of Women’s Studies at UGA.
The organization also provides several student scholarships every year.
