The 15th Annual Athens Physical Therapy Firefly Trail Ticket to Ride also takes place this Saturday, March 28. The cycling event celebrates the 12 miles of trail already in use and raises funds in the effort to complete the remaining 27 miles.
Mark Ralston is Publicity chair for Firefly Trail Incorporated.

“This will be an up to 82 mile out and back ride starting in Athens, Winterville, or Union Point,” according to Ralston. “Riders can choose how far they want to go or how little they want to go. All proceeds support the work of Firefly Trail Incorporated to finish the trail.”

Riders start at 9 a.m. in Union Point and 10 a.m. in Athens and Winterville. They can take a fully paved route or use trail-and-gravel options out of Union Point.

Organizers are also debuting the first Trailblazer 5K and Fun Run at this year’s event. That race starts and 8 am and all ages and abilities are invited.

Ticket to Ride is a non-competitive race. E-bikes are also welcome. For full details, please visit www.fireflytrail.com.
