ACC Government: Judicial Circuits, Police Chief, and a Close Senate Race

Political observers are still waiting for more clarity in the aftermath of yesterday’s crucial US Senate runoffs here in Georgia. The AP has called one of those Senate races in favor of Democratic challenger Raphael Warnock. Democrat Jon Ossoff has a slim lead over Republican incumbent David Perdue. Some votes have yet to be tallied, but those outstanding votes appear to be in heavily democratic areas.

The Mayor of Watkinsville is calling on state legislators to create a new judicial circuit, decoupling Oconee County from Athens-Clarke County. Jeanne Davis has more:

The Mayor of Frederick is set to announce his decision on the hiring, after speaking with City Alderman sometime this week.
