Athens News Matters: Learning Gaps in Pre-K Students

In March, students’ routines were disrupted as schools shut down due to the threat of COVID-19. Now, students are back to the books, but in an unconventional way. Co-investigators Dr. Kristen Bub and Dr. Stacy Neuharth-Pritchett are discovering how this educational gap and new way of learning will impact the learning curve among preschool children. 

Alexia Ridley joined WUGA as Television and Radio News Anchor and Reporter in 2013. When WUGA TV concluded operations, she became the primary Reporter for WUGA Radio. Alexia came to Athens from Macon where she served as the News Director and show host for WGXA TV. She's a career journalist and Savannah native hailing from the University of Michigan. However, Alexia considers herself an honorary UGA DAWG!
