Athens StoryCorps: Bryan Smith and Simone Moonsammy-Smith

Brian Smith and his wife Simone Moonsammy-Smith are the first to admit that on the outside, they do not look like a matched pair. Having two very different childhoods, they have had to grapple with their cultural differences in their personal lives and in public. In this conversation, you’ll hear about how they met, their first impressions of each other, and how their differences have brought them closer together. StoryCorps Athens stories were recorded locally at the StoryCorps mobile booth at the Athens-Clarke County Library in the Fall of 2018. StoryCorps is part of a national initiative to record and preserve the stories of everyday people.
