Athens StoryCorps: Jenna Jambeck and Matthew Farfour

Dr. Jenna Jambeck and her husband Matthew Farfour visited the Mobile booth in October. Dr. Jambeck is an Associate Professor of Engineering at UGA where she runs the Jambeck Research Group, an organization that seeks to reduce plastic waste in the world’s oceans. Over the years, Dr. Jambeck’s work and travels have ensured that her relationship with Matthew has challenged their ideas of traditional family roles. StoryCorps Athens stories were recorded locally at the StoryCorps mobile booth at the Athens-Clarke County Library in the Fall of 2018. StoryCorps is part of a national initiative to record and preserve the stories of everyday people.
