Board of Education to Vote on Budget

The Clarke County Board of Education is scheduled to vote on the 2022 Fiscal Year Budget and millage rate this evening.

The board is scheduled to approve the $171 million budget for the upcoming fiscal year during a 6PM meeting today. While the millage rate is expected to be set at 20 mills--same as last year--district officials are predicting a 7.6% increase in property values.

The estimated fund balance to start the year on July 1st is $36.5 million, roughly 20% of the Fiscal Year 2022's budgeted expenditures. The board is also scheduled to vote on new policies for paid parental leave and teacher evaluations.

The meeting can be accessed on the Clarke County School District's YouTube channel starting at 6PM today.
