COVID-19 Cases in Georgia

There were 1,055 new cases reported today and 20 deaths in the state of Georgia. The total is now just over 295,000 cases and approximately 6,353 deaths. There were also 25 hospitalizations due to the virus today.

The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency reported on September 14th that a little under half of the state’s total ER beds are now in use. 80.1% of critical care beds are in use, and about 76.5% of general inpatient beds are also occupied. Only 31.4% of adult ventilators are in use now, a decrease from last week.

According to the state health department, Clarke county currently has had 4540 total cases and 36 total deaths. Barrow County has had 1979 cases and 43 deaths. Jackson County has had 1748 cases and 28 deaths. Madison County has had 619 cases with eight deaths, Oconee County is reporting 666 cases and 24 deaths, while Oglethorpe has had 298 cases and 11 deaths. Of these counties, Clarke county is seeing the fastest increase in cases.
