Gov. Kemp Responds to Justice Department Lawsuit Over New Voting Law

The U.S. Department of Justice is suing Georgia over its new voting law, Georgia’s Election Integrity Act, S.B. 202.

Governor Brian Kemp responded to that federal lawsuit during a press conference Friday.

“The Biden Administration is weaponizing the Department of Justice to serve their own partisan goals,” Kemp said. “This administration is ignoring the border crisis, they’re ignoring the rise in crime across the country; instead they’re spending their time going after states who took reason, common sense steps to ensure the sanctity of the ballot box. Let me be clear, the DOJ lawsuit announced today, is legally and constitutionally dead wrong.”

Kemp made the remarks during a trip to Savannah at a stop at the city’s Convention Center.
