Number of Coronavirus Cases in Georgia Decrease Monday

Coronavirus numbers Monday were much lower than the numbers from last week. There were only 1,843 new cases reported today and 25 deaths. The total is now more than 238,000 cases and approximately 4,727 deaths. There were also 46 hospitalizations due to the virus Monday.

 

 

   

The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency reported on August 16th that a little over 50% of the state’s total ER beds are now in use. 83% of critical care beds are in use, and 77% of general inpatient beds are also occupied. 58% of adult ventilators remain in use.

According to the state health department, Clarke currently has had 2264 total cases and 21 total deaths. Barrow County has had 1438 cases and 34 deaths. Jackson County has had 1190 cases and 17 deaths. Madison County has had 450 cases with seven deaths, Oconee County is reporting 474 cases and 16 deaths, while Oglethorpe has had 252 cases and eight deaths.
