Athens News Matters for March 2, 2024

This week on Athens News Matters, we speak to Athens-Clarke County Mayor Kelly Girtz about how local government is investing more in public safety. WUGA’s Martin Matheny reviews progress on House Bill 1105, which supporters say would crack down on illegal immigrants who commit crimes in Georgia. We’ll pay a visit to the Clarke County School District’s new bistro. WUGA’s Alison Salerno takes a look at the mental toll student debt takes on young adults through the eyes of two University of Georgia professors - one who carries debt and the other who studies it.
