Friday, September 19, UGA Presents the Paul Taylor Dance Company at the Classic Center Theatre. Their program features Company B: Songs Sung by the Andrews Sisters.
When the Paul Taylor Dance Company debuted the piece, the New York Times said, "Happiness is the vitality of the Andrews Sisters matched by the exuberance of the Taylor dancers." After intermission, the mood changes.
The program concludes with Esplanade, set to violin concertos by J.S. Bach. The New Yorker calls it "perhaps Taylor’s sunniest, most welcoming dance and certainly one of his most beloved."
