ACC Government Seeking Candidates for Policy-Making Board Positions

The ACC government is seeking qualified candidates for seven positions. The unpaid volunteer positions are on four policy-making boards. They are: one position on the Airport Authority for a four-year term, One spot on the Classic Center Authority, also for a four-year term, three positions on the Historic Preservation Commission for a three-year term, and two positions on the planning Commission for five years.

Those applying must be Athens-Clarke County residents and registered to vote in Clarke County. Applications can be filled online at www.acc.gov.com. They can also be picked up at the Clerk of Commission’s Office in City Hall. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 6th. The mayor and commission plan to interview applicants Tuesday, April 24th. Incumbents may reapply.

Alexia Ridley joined WUGA as Television and Radio News Anchor and Reporter in 2013. When WUGA TV concluded operations, she became the primary Reporter for WUGA Radio. Alexia came to Athens from Macon where she served as the News Director and show host for WGXA TV. She's a career journalist and Savannah native hailing from the University of Michigan. However, Alexia considers herself an honorary UGA DAWG!
