The University of Georgia’s Small Business Development Center has received over six million dollars in federal grant funds from the US Department of Treasury, which it will dedicate to statewide programming.
Business advisors from the UGA SBDC will work in partnership with UGA’s College of Family and Consumer Sciences Extension to assist small enterprises around the state who face obstacles to attaining capital. Over the past five years, the center has helped its clients access over a billion dollars of funding. The latest federal money will fund SBDC representatives as they instruct business owners on the details of financial institutions, requirements for loan applications, and legal considerations.
The UGA Small Business Development Center is a Public Service and Outreach unit of the University of Georgia. To learn more about the UGA SBDC, visit georgiasbdc.org.
