The University of Georgia is launching one of the most significant initiatives in its nearly 240-year history – the creation of a new independent School of Medicine.
With support from Governor Brian Kemp, Chancellor Sonny Perdue, the Georgia General Assembly and the University System of Georgia Board of Regents, a new medical school at the state’s flagship university comes at a time when Georgia faces a significant shortage of medical professionals.
