A 25 year old female from Athens succumbed to her injuries in the hospital three days after the initial accident on December 21st. She was 15 weeks pregnant, the fetus also did not survive.
The young woman had been in the passenger seat of a Toyota Camry that was struck by a wrong way driver on GA 10 Inner loop. The driver of the Toyota, a 25 year old male of Athens, died at the scene of the accident from his injuries.
The wrong-way driver, a 26 year old female of Lawrenceville in a Kia Seltos, struck two other vehicles before colliding with the Toyota head on. After the collision, the Kia came to rest on the cable barriers, where it caught fire.
The driver of the Kia suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene as well. The passenger of the Kia was transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition.
