September 22, 2022: Warnock holds narrow lead, higher favorability, in new poll

A new poll shows that a plurality of Georgians views Sen. Rev. Raphael Warnock favorably.

A new survey of registered voters in Georgia finds more people have a favorable view of Sen. Raphael Warnock than his opponent Herschel Walker.

And in sports, UGA volleyball fell to Mississippi State in Starkville last night, 3-1. And a loss for the Atlanta Braves as well – they came up short against the Nationals, 3-2. With a loss by the Mets yesterday, the Braves remain a game out of first place in the East, and they play the Philadelphia Phillies tonight at 7:15.

Martin Matheny was promoted to Program Director and Content Strategist on July 1, 2022. He has served as the Executive Producer of our local news program 'Athens News Matters', and he covers local government for WUGA News. He started at WUGA in 2012 as a part-time classical music host and still hosts WUGA's longest-running local program 'Night Music' which is heard on Tuesdays and Wednesdays on WUGA at 10pm. 'Night Music' can also be heard statewide on the GPB Classical stream Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm. As part of 'Athens News Matters' Martin works with student interns to help cultivate the next generation of Public Media rock stars! In his spare time Martin is an amateur book binder and freelance musician who frequently performs with Big Band Athens playing bass trombone. He lives in Normaltown with his wife, Shaye and dog, Murphy.
Stephen Fowler is the Producer/Back-Up Host for All Things Considered and a creative storyteller hailing from McDonough, Georgia. He graduated from Emory University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. The program combined the best parts of journalism, marketing, digital media and music into a thesis on the rise of the internet rapper via the intersectionality of social media and hip-hop. He served as the first-ever Executive Digital Editor of The Emory Wheel, where he helped lead the paper into a modern digital era.
