Georgia Museum of Art New Exhibitions and Family Day
The Georgia Museum of Art is hosting its monthly Family Day event Saturday, showcasing two new exhibitions.
The first is “The Genius of Martin Johnson Heade,” and it focuses on his most famous paintings of birds and flowers. “Modern Living , Gio Ponti’ and the 20th Century Aesthetics of Design,“ is featured in the second display.
Communications Director Hillary Brown says that exhibit should interest an often hard-to-reach audience.
“There are so many different kinds of fancy cabinet-making techniques and woodworking,” Brown said. I think a lot of men will appreciate this show too. Men are a difficult audience for us to get tin here sometimes, but they do tend to be interested in woodworking and cabinet making.”
There is no charge to attend. Family Day is a drop-in event from 10 am until noon.
