ACC Library Hosting Free Computer Courses for Adults This Summer

Athens Regional Library

Throughout July, Athens-Clarke County Library is hosting two different types of computer courses for adults. Of the two courses, one focuses on basic computer skills. It will begin July 11th and continue every Tuesday morning in July.  The other course, called DMC Class, will focus on more advanced computer skills and will be available at different times throughout the month. The classes are free for registration and the DMC Class is limited to 4 people per course. Rhiannon Eades, Athens-Clarke County’s public information officer, said the library is pleased to offer these skills to the community because they’re important, but not always easy to obtain.

“We’re really happy to be able to offer these classes to people in the community, because computer skills are important and sometimes it’ s hard to find a place to learn those new skills and so you can always come to the library and take one of our free classes, take one of our tutorials and improve your computer skills.”

Athens residents may also register for one-on-one classes if they want personalized instruction of their choice. Eades said these courses are available to any interested adults.

“Anybody can come in and take them. You don’t have to have a library card; you just have to sign up for them because space is limited. So, if you call us here at the library or go to our website, there is a way to sign up for those classes on the website.”

All of the courses available are free and more details can be found by calling Athens-Clarke County Library or visiting their website.
