The city of Comer and the Comer Police Department have partnered to host Comer’s first annual Public Safety Night at the Movies this Saturday.
Police Chief Jeffrey Roberts explained that every public safety service in Comer will participate in this event, including Comer police Department, Comer Fire Department, Madison County EMS, Madison County Rescue and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Chief Roberts explained that this event is to connect the community with the police department and other public safety departments.
“Just trying to reach out to the community,” Roberts said. “Just trying to give back to the public free of charge.”
The Public Safety Night event will have jump houses, a moonwalk, a corn hole tournament, and music for Comer residents. There will also be free food and drinks for the residents to enjoy. Children can enjoy an outdoor movie, which begins at night.
The community event is free and will start at 6 p.m. on Saturday in Cliff Yarbrough City Park.
