Environment Georgia and UGA to Host Conversation on Energy in Athens

Environment Georgia and The UGA Office of Sustainability are hosting a clean energy event in Athens.

A coalition of environmental groups, government officials, energy professionals, and education professionals are taking part in a conversation on renewable energy in Athens. With over 100 cities and 1,000 businesses committing to 100% renewable energy, organizers hope to add Athens to that list.  Jennette Gayer is with Environment Georgia.

“We’ve have a couple panelists, some from UGA, some from the city of Athens talking about what are some of the good things from the movement that we’re seeing on this and what are some of the challenges,” Gayer said. “We want to be very honest about the fact that this will definitely take some work.”

It takes place Tuesday, July 25th at the Athens Library on Baxter Street from 6:30 to 8 pm.
