Georgia Museum of Art Reception, 90 Carlton: Summer

Georgia Museum of Art

The Friends of the Georgia Museum of Art are holding a quarterly reception this evening.  90 Carlton: Summer celebrates all the facility’s exhibitions at a time when as many as possible are open. Director of Communications Hillary Brown says the event will focus on the works of Gio Ponti, Martin Johnson Heade, and printmaker F. Townsend Morgan.

“That is this printmaker who started off in Philadelphia and then he ended up working in Florida for a lot of his career through various WPA programs,” Brown said. “So his family members are very excited about this show and I think some of them are coming from pretty far away. This is it. This is the first show that’s been done since he died in the 1960’s. it might be the only show that ever gets done.

The event features refreshments, gallery activities, door prizes, and “Ask the Experts” from 7 to 8 pm. The event lasts from 5:30 until 8:30 this evening.
