Landmark Properties

Residents in Athens newest student-housing development began moving in today. The Athens-Clarke County Police department cautioned drivers to expect delays around The Mark. Police closed one westbound lane of Oconee Street between Wilkerson and Thomas as the first students moved into their new home.

The Mark includes more than 300 apartments, 928 beds, 82,000 square feet of office and retail space.

According to a media release, the property also brings 125 full-time employees to downtown Athens. Employees have been working at the building since July 24th.

"The entire team at Landmark Properties is excited to open the doors at The Mark to more than 900 students who have chosen to call it their home in the Classic City," Landmark Properties President and CEO Wes Rogers said. "For my entire life, I've called Athens home. It is a dream come true to bring our team and our residents to one of the finest downtown areas in the country. With The Mark, we further our commitment to offering residents an unsurpassed living experience and strengthen our dedication to being good neighbors in the Athens community."
