Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department will present “Back 2 School Bash” on Friday, August 4.
Lay Park is inviting everyone in the Athens community to come out and enjoy the fun. Danielle Lyle, Program Leader at Lay Park, explained that the “Back 2 School Bash” is for the community to come together in wrapping up summer break and bringing in the new school year.
“The major thing is bringing people together,” Lyle said. “It’s a camaraderie. It’ll actually help families because we have school supplies we are giving away.”
The first 200 school-age participants (5 – 12 years old, who register online, will receive a free book bag. Early arrivers also have the opportunity to win tickets for free pizza slices. Kids can take part in the face painting, games, and inflatables. In addition, ACC Police and Fire Departments vehicles will be available for the kids to explore.
The back to school event will be held from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Online registration is required. Register online for this program.
