Members of the community are invited to attend open house events which be held at both Athens Neighborhood Health Center locations next week. In addition to providing primary and preventative health care, the federally-qualified center also has a pharmacy and lab. CEO Mellinda Craig says the center is open to everyone.
“If you don’t have insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid, you can apply for what we call a sliding fee scale, it’ll take a percent off of the balance,” according to Craig. “you can receive the care that you need and you don’t have to worry about it.” “Yes, these are board –certified or board-eligible providers.”
National Health Center Week begins is August 13th-19th. Athens Neighborhood Health Center open houses are Tuesday, August 15th from 9 am until 6:30 at the 675 College Avenue location; and Thursday from 9 am until 4:30 at 402 McKinley Drive.
