Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement to Hold Follow-up to Charlottesville Conversation

The Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement is holding a follow-up to its conversation on Charlotteville. More than 200 people attended the “Charlottesville: A Response from Athens” meeting held at the Athens library Wednesday. The standing room only crowd including families, activists and others.

According to a release from the organization, Co-founders Mokah Johnson and Knowah Johnson provided the forum for concerned citizens to express their feelings about the removal of confederate monuments and the rise of hate groups. The crowd discussed the Confederate monument located on Broad Street across from the Arch. The group plans to hold a follow meeting within the next two weeks.
