Public Invited to United Way's Free Community Celebration at The Graduate

The United Way of Northeast Georgia is inviting the community to a free celebration Thursday evening at the Graduate.

The United Way is holding a Community Celebration honoring 40 nonprofits for their contributions. Emily Nicholos is Director of Community Impact for the agency.

"It’s easy for us to talk about what’s wrong or what needs to be fixed or improved, but for us, we just want to celebrate the good work that’s already being done and thank the nonprofits,” according to Nichols.

The family-friendly event will have free food, music, and more. Director of Education Julie Farmer says it’s also a way for members of the community to learn how they can get involved.

“We really want people to know that as Emily mentioned, it’s a time to really celebrate the good that is happening,” Farmer said. Social service can be a really thankless job and they’re on the ground and working day-in and day-out.”

The event is from 5 to 8 pm.
