A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a mini-van in Athens Friday morning. The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating the collision which happened Friday morning. Spokesperson Epifanio Rodriguez says very few details are available.

“About 8 o’ clock this morning our officers responded to an accident involving a minivan and a pedestrian, it occurred on Prince Avenue right next to Duncan Donuts,” Rodriguez said. “Our crash investigators and our forensic unit are conducting the investigation into what occurred.”

Rodriguez says as of Friday afternoon; no charges had been filed.

“It’s possible pending the investigation, what the investigators find the cause of the accident was, but as of right now no charges have been filed.”

Little information regarding the victim is available other than he is a male. Rodriguez did say the driver of the minivan was a woman.
