We’re just days away from the start of Hunger Bowl 2017. Grady College is just one of the campus entities taking part this year.
The Hunger Bowl supports the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. The agency distributes millions of pounds of food through more than 225 partner organizations.
This year’s event begins Friday, October 27th, but the official Grady College kickoff is Monday, October 30th with a “Stuff the Truck” event. Dean Charles Davis explains.
“We’re doing a big event this year to kick off the Hunger Bowl,” Davis said. “On October the 30th we are going to Stuff the Truck. “We’ll have trucks at every Walmart location in Athens all day and we’ll have UGA athletes and coaches on hand and we will try to fill every Food Bank truck at every Walmart on October 30th.”
Davis says the Hunger Bowl is instrumental in providing the Food Bank with food to help families through the holiday season.
Grady College is partnering with UGA, UGA Athletics, COX Media group, and the NE Georgia Food bank for the event.
