St. Mary's Healthcare System in Athens Receives National Recognition in Stroke and GI Care

St. Mary's

St. Mary’s Healthcare System is being recognized by a national organization. The facility has received Healthgrades’ excellence awards for stroke and GI care. St. Mary’s is the only hospital in Georgia to receive the awards seven years in a row.

Public Relations Manager Mark Ralston says St. Mary’s is named among the top 10 percent of hospitals in both areas.

"Any time a hospital gets a five star rating from Healthgrades it means you're doing a lot right," said Ralston. "Ratings like these demonstrate that our patients can have confidence that St. Mary's is providing state-of-the-art care for them and their loved ones."

Healthgrades evaluates nearly 4500 hospitals nationwide every year.
