Tuesday, November 28 is Giving Tuesday, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The day kicks off the charitable season when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. The global movement asks individuals, families, companies, organizations and others to find a way to give back and then share those ideas. Governor Nathan Deal sent out a tweet urging Georgians to support nonprofits that help those in need.
This is the sixth year of the event, which is fueled by social media and collaboration. #Giving Tuesday celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy. It was created at the Belfer Center for Innovation and Social impact in New York.
