House District 119 Representative Jonathan Wallace to Hold Facebook Live Event

Representative Jonathan Wallace is hosting a Facebook live event Tuesday evening November 28, for constituents to let him know what topics, issues, and concerns are important to them. The question and answer session is from 8 to 8:30 Tuesday night.

“I know that I can’t keep track of everything by myself and so I really rely on folks to reach out to me,” Wallace said. “It’s a chance for people to come and ask questions or to put things on my radar that I need to pay attention to and maybe do some further research. I’m calling it Legislative Office Hours. I’m going to consistently do that, I’m also looking to set up a physical location maybe at a different time, not in the evening to let them know that I’m available.”

Wallace and Representative Deborah Gonzalez teamed up with Athens for Everyone for “Victory Canvassing” after the special election earlier this month.

“I’ve gone out and knocked on doors and let them know, hey, I’m your representative-elect for district 119 and I’d like to hear what you have to say. It was interesting to see people’s reaction to that because they’re like, ‘nobody’s ever knocked on my door before and asked my opinion.’ That’s what I’d like folks to know going forward is that I’m still listening and I still need to hear from them as to what they care about, what they find important, so I can put that on my radar and make sure that I incorporate that in my work that I bring to the Capitol.”

Those interested in the live event this evening can visit Jonathan Wallace for State House District 119 on Facebook. Wallace and Gonzalez were sworn in Monday morning at the Capitol. The session starts January 8, 2018.
