Kent Kilpatrick Named ACC Leisure Services Director

Athens-Clarke County Public Information Office

County manager Blaine Williams has named Kent Kilpatrick as the new Leisure Services Director for Athens-Clarke County.  He has served as the interim director for the department since June 2016, when former director Pam Reddy resigned. Kilpatrick has worked with the county since 1987.

Kilpatrick holds a Bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Recreation from the University of West Georgia. He is also a Certified Park and Recreation Professional by the National Recreation and Park Association.

The department had over 16,000 program participants in Fiscal Year 2017 and maintains over 2,000 acres, as well as 17 park playgrounds, 35 athletic fields, and 40 miles of trails, among other amenities. It was recently awarded the Georgia Recreation and Park Association's District 7 Agency of the Year for the second time in four years in its population category.
