Candidate Responds to Debate Cancelation

A debate scheduled for Saturday, March 17 between debate between Democratic candidates Richard Winfield and Chalis Montgomery has been canceled. The Montgomery campaign issued a statement earlier this week that due to a third announced democratic candidate, the campaign was moving forward with community events that conflicted with some of the scheduled debates.

Candidate Richard Winfield responded with an article on Medium.com. He says the cancelation is due to concerns from the Montgomery campaign regarding the ability of the potential hosting organization to be impartial.  Winfield called the cancellation ‘unfortunate.’

The remaining three debates are still scheduled, for April 19th, April 28th, and May 1st.

Winfield and Montgomery, along with fellow Democrat Tabitha Johnson-Green are trying to unseat District 10 Representative Jody Hice, as are fellow Republicans Joe Hunt and Bradley Griffin.
