Jackson EMC Linemen Heading to South Carolina to Assist in Storm Recovery

Five Jackson EMC crews are heading to South Carolina to assist a fellow electric co-op restore power after powerful storms this week.

A release by the company states that the Jackson EMC crews will assist Blue Ridge Electric Co-op, based in Pickens, S.C., restore power to its members. Blue Ridge Electric Co-op serves 64,890 members across Anderson, Greenville, Spartanburg, Oconee and Pickens counties. Powerful storms on Sunday caused extensive damage to power lines and poles in Blue Ridge Electric Co-op’s service area.

Jackson EMC linemen are available to assist Blue Ridge Electric Co-op after restoring power in the local service area following outages from storms on Monday. The crews heading to South Carolina are from the Jefferson, Neese and Corporate offices.
