Body of Missing Elbert Teen Found in Pond

The Georgia State Patrol confirmed that the body of an Elbert County teenage girl who was reported missing last Thursday was found in a pond Wednesday night.

Julie Ann Mosier, 18, was found after an Elbert County sheriff’s deputy saw marks on a dirt embankment at the intersection of Parhamtown Road Georgia Highway 172, leading him to the small pond where her car had crashed.

The recent Elbert County High School graduate was a new driver, obtaining her license in May. She was on the phone with a friend the morning she was reported missing as she was driving. The friend said he did not hear a crash but he did hear Mosier say his name several times before the call was disconnected.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the wreck and don’t suspect foul play.
