All of Georgia’s 159 counties have provided the total votes cast to the state, and Kemp affirms that the returns are a true and correct tabulation. In the Republican runoff for Lieutenant Governor, Geoff Duncan maintained his lead over David Shafer by a margin of 1,597 votes. Under O.C.G.A. § 21-2-495, a candidate may request a recount within two business days if the difference in votes between the winning candidate and second-place candidate is not more than one percent of the total votes cast in the race.
