Human Rights Groups to Release Report on Conditions for Detained Immigrants in Georgia

Human rights groups will release a report on conditions for detained immigrants in Georgia. The Project South and Georgia Detention Watch will release the 105-page report titled “Inside Atlanta’s Immigrant Cages” at noon on Monday, Augusts 6.

The year-long documentation project included interviews of 38 detained immigrants as well as several immigration attorneys. It also included tours of the facility and the inspection of several city documents. A press conference will be held outside the Atlanta City Detention Center. Additional groups involved include the Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights, Black Alliance for Just Immigration, and Women on the Rise.
