Georgia Sets Record for Number of Business Registering

The number businesses in Georgia has reached an all-time high. Secretary of State Brian Kemp announced his office’s Corporations Division has broken a record when it comes to the total business registrations filed in one year, with more than 7000,000 filings completed since January 1, 2018. That number includes renewals from annual registration season, which runs from January 1 to April 1 of year; as well as brand new filings.

Annual registration will re-open January 1, 2019 and run through 11:59 p.m. on April 1, 2019. For-profit corporations, non-profit corporations, professional corporations, limited liability companies, and limited partnerships must file annual registrations with the Corporations Division during this time.

For the rest of the year, businesses file annual registrations to create new entities or update existing records.
