Eligible Georgia voters are running out of time to register vote in the Nov. 6 general election.

By Oct. 9, 2018, those who wish to vote should make sure they are registered with the Secretary of State’s office. Those who want to register online or check their registration status can do sohere, and those who want to submit paper ballots can find it here. Paper ballots must arrive in the mail or be hand delivered to a local county board of registrars’ office by Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Additionally, according to the Secretary of State’s office, college students from any state may pick up a voter registration form from their school’s registrar’s office or from the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Georgia citizens who are eligible to register to vote must meet the following criteria: they are legal residents of the United States, at least 17.5 years of age, not serving a sentence for conviction of a felony involving “moral turpitude” and not declared mentally unfit by a judge.

During the general election, voters will be deciding many positions such as Georgia’s Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State and Attorney General. There are also many other statewide races and ballot measures on which voters will decide.

Secretary of State Brian Kemp’s office has produced a page where registered voters can view a sample ballot and polling locations. To view this page, click here.
