Georgia City to Extend Alcohol Sales During 2019 Super Bowl

ATLANTA (AP) — A city in Georgia is extending the hours of alcohol sales for several days near the 2019 Super Bowl.

Citing Atlanta City Council meeting minutes, WSB-TV reported Monday that the council unanimously passed “Pour Until Four” legislation last month.

The legislation created by councilwoman Marci Collier Overstreet will extend the hours of alcohol sales in the city from 2:30 a.m. to 4 a.m. each night. The extended hours start on Jan. 28, a few days before the Feb. 3 game.

Atlanta police Deputy Chief Scott Kreher will be in charge of safety and security in the city during the game. He says the department is going to partner with Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority and ride-share services to help people get home safe.
