ESP Gets Dirty to Raise Funds for Camp

Extra Special People is hosting the fourth annual Big Trail and Tug family day at Camp Hooray in Jefferson. The charity event will start at noon and include food, running trails, activities, and a muddy tug-of-war competition. ESP’s Executive Director Laura Whitaker says this year’s event focuses on family.

“This event is all about getting muddy and dirty,’ We got a family adventure game, a family can consist of friends, your family with young children it can consists of college students who want to do one of those typical muddy, dirty mud runs.  “You have obstacles and you go through different hoops and get all dot and muddy and come out on the end feeling like you’re really accomplished something pretty cool.”

Those taking part can watch or form teams to join in the Family Adventure Run or Tug-of-War competition. Teams are asked to donate $25 for the trails of fundraise $500 to compete in the Tug-of-War.

"All of the funds that we raise, we have sponsorships to cover the actual cost of the event, so any of the funds than come in on Sunday will go straight to the kids that we serve."
