East Side Eats Returns September 30

Athens’ Young Women’s Christian Organization will host “East Side Eats” on Sept. 30, an opportunity to sample food and drink from Eastside eateries, as part of fundraising to support its youth organizations.

The YWCO, a nonprofit health and recreation center, offers fitness and aquatics programming for all ages, in addition to after school programs and summer day camp opportunities for children.

Participating restaurants include Inoko Sushi Express, Locos Grill & Pub, The Falls Restaurant, and more. Awards will be given for “People’s Choice Awards” and “Kids’ Choice Award.”

The festivities also include live music, a silent auction, and events for young children.

Becky Galvin, YWCO Assistant Director, said that attendees “can taste food and drinks from more than a dozen restaurants.”

Galvin also touted silent auction offerings like Georgia-Florida football tickets, golf at The Georgia Club, and “much more.”

Anyone interested may purchase advance tickets for $20 each or $75 for four. Tickets at the door will be $25 each. Children three and under will be admitted for free.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at the YWCO or by calling 706-354-7880.
