The Georgia Conflict Center is hosting its 4th Annual Pickin’ for Peace fundraiser Sunday. The Foundry is hosting the family-friendly event, which features a concert and silent auction. John Lash is the center’s Executive Director.
“The Conflict Center works with both individuals and groups of all types to figure out how can we better deal the conflicts that arise in our life, to prevent violence, to prevent whatever you think of a negative outcomes of conflict,” according to Lash.
The conducts work around the state and elsewhere, but most of the work is focused in the Athens area.
“For instance we do work in schools and a few other places doing something called restorative justice, we also coach and teach people individually what are some skills they can used when they’re faced with difficult conflicts.”
Doors open at 6, the music starts a 7 and the auction should be completed by 9.
