The Georgia legislature is poised to finalize $470 million in emergency aid and tax credits for victims of Hurricane Michael as well as a $40 million tax exemption on jet fuel in a final round of votes Saturday.
The state Senate will meet Saturday morning for floor votes on the proposals, which have already passed the House.
The House won't convene this weekend. But a resolution adopted Friday says that if the Senate approves the hurricane relief bills and jet fuel tax break without making changes, those bills are to be immediately sent to the governor.
Gov. Nathan Deal says he will be ready to sign the measures into law this weekend.
All three bills won easy approval in Senate committees Friday with no changes made to the House versions.
