A record level of early applications to the University of Georgia have come in this year, and thousands of potential students will already be getting the good news of admission.
Nearly 17 thousand students applied to UGA, a 14 percent increase from last year and up 28 percent from five years ago.
Those applicants represent all of Georgia’s 159 counties and 3,100 high schools across America.
Associate vice president for admissions and enrollment management Patrick Winter said that “UGA is pleased to offer admission to such a talented group of scholars.”
“After months of traveling the state and nation recruiting these students, it is out privilege to welcome them to the University of Georgia.”
7,500 new students were sent the news of their early acceptance into UGA’s class of 2023. Many of those students were selected based on their “outstanding GPAs and SAT or ACT scores.”
This comes as UGA continues to climb the U.S. News & World Report ranking of public national universities, jumping three sports to No. 13, the highest in UGA’s history.
